The UEFA Euro 2016 is one of the most anticipated football championship this year. Many nations that are known as the best in football in the whole world will compete in this championship and determine who is the strongest team for the year. The qualifications session of the UEFA Euro 2016 has ended and now teams that are qualified to advanced to the next stage of the championship are preparing themselves for the play offs. Euro 2016: Road to the Final
- The Qualification Stage
At the qualification stage, countries that are united under the name of European Union will compete against those inside their groups so that they can advanced to the next stage. In the qualification stage of Euro 2016, 53 nations are drawn into nine groups, each group consist of six Or five teams and they compete in matches against each other inside the group. The matches are held from 7th September 2014 and 13th October 2015 in a home and away basis. The first and second place winner of the nine group, and the best third placed team will be qualified immediately for the final tournament while the other eight teams that placed third in their groups will compete in the play offs for the final four competitors for the final tournaments.
- The Play Off Stage
The pairing and order of home and away of playing for the play off stage for Euro 20016 are done by using draws as well as by seeding the four sides with the best UEFA national team coefficient rankings. The first leg pf matches had been done on 12th until 14th November 2015 and the second leg were held on 15th until 17th November 2016. The teams that have the greater aggregate score will be qualified for the final tournament that will be held in France this summer.
- The Final Tournament
The group stage of the final tournament of Euro 2016 will be held in June 2016 in France. The twenty four nation teams will be divided into six group with four teams inside each group. As the host, France will also join the other 23 groups in the final tournaments. The first match day is between 10 and 14 June, the second is between 15 and 18 June 2016, and the third match day is on 19 until 22 June 2016. The top two teams from each group and the four best third place teams will advanced into the round of 16 where it will be a knockout competition. The round of 16 will be held on 25 until 27 June 2016, the quarter finals will be held on 30 June until 3rd of July, and the semi finals will be held 6 and 7 July 2016. The final match of the competition will be held on July 10, 2016.
